Proxmox VE clusters, storage and migrations

Proxmox Virtualization

Enterprise virtualization, without the enterprise licensing.

Proxmox VE design, clustering, Ceph and ZFS storage, backups and VMware-to-Proxmox migrations led by an experienced Proxmox consultant.

Clusters built for HAMulti-node Proxmox VE with quorum, fencing and live migration planned around your workloads.
Ceph or ZFS, chosen wellStorage selected from your hardware, network and recovery goals, then tuned and monitored.

Sound familiar?

Virtualization decisions are getting harder to postpone.

Renewal quotes that changed the math

VMware licensing moved to subscription bundles, and many smaller teams are rethinking what they actually need to pay for.

One host carrying everything

A single server runs the ERP, the file shares and the domain controller. When it fails, the whole office stops with it.

Backups sitting next to production

Snapshots on the same storage are not backups. A failed array or a ransomware attack can take both at once.

A well-designed Proxmox platform gives you redundancy, real backups and a licensing model you control.

Proxmox Virtualization

Proxmox VE has become a serious platform for businesses that want reliable virtualization with transparent costs. It combines KVM virtual machines and LXC containers, high-availability clustering, Ceph or ZFS storage and integrated backups in one open-source stack. Many organizations are now evaluating it after Broadcom changed VMware licensing and pricing, and want a path that is planned rather than rushed.

As a Proxmox consultant, our founder works with the platform every day and runs a Proxmox-focused YouTube channel followed by more than 3,000 subscribers. We design clusters sized for your workloads, configure storage that fits your performance and redundancy needs, set up Proxmox Backup Server with verified restores and migrate virtual machines from VMware with minimal downtime. Projects are delivered from Miami for companies across the US.

In depth

A Proxmox platform engineered end to end.

We handle the parts that decide whether virtualization feels calm or fragile: cluster design, storage, networking, backups and the move off your current hypervisor.

01

Cluster & network architecture

We size the nodes, design separate corosync and storage networks, and configure high availability so workloads restart on another host when one goes down. VLANs, bonds and SDN zones are documented so your team can follow every decision.

  • Quorum and QDevice planning
  • Dedicated corosync and storage links
  • HA groups and maintenance mode
  • VLAN-aware bridges and SDN

02

Storage & Proxmox Backup Server

Ceph for shared, self-healing storage across three or more nodes, or ZFS with replication for smaller sites. Proxmox Backup Server adds deduplicated, encrypted backups with scheduled verification and an offsite sync target.

  • Ceph pools, CRUSH rules and OSD tuning
  • ZFS mirrors, RAIDZ and replication
  • PBS verify jobs and prune policies
  • Offsite sync and restore drills

03

VMware to Proxmox migration

Every VM is inventoried with its disks, drivers and dependencies, then moved in planned waves using the Proxmox ESXi import wizard or a staged conversion. Each workload is validated before the next wave, and a rollback path stays open.

  • Inventory and dependency mapping
  • VirtIO drivers and guest agent setup
  • Pilot wave before production
  • Rollback plan for every VM

How it works

From first audit to a cluster your team trusts.

  1. 01

    Assess

We inventory hosts, VMs, storage and backups, and agree on recovery targets with you.

  2. 02

    Design

Node sizing, storage layout, networking and HA are planned and written down before anything is installed.

  3. 03

    Build & migrate

We deploy, test failover and restores, then migrate workloads in scheduled maintenance windows.

  4. 04

    Operate

Monitoring, updates and backup verification on a monthly plan, or a clean handoff with runbooks and training.

Why it matters

01

Deep platform expertise

Daily production work and a dedicated YouTube channel mean we know Proxmox beyond the documentation.

02

Predictable licensing

Proxmox VE is open source, with optional enterprise subscriptions, so you choose the support level and cost.

03

Careful migrations

We inventory, test and move workloads from VMware in planned waves, with rollback options at every step.

04

Backups you can trust

Proxmox Backup Server with deduplication, encryption and scheduled verification of restore points.

Who it’s for

Built for teams that run their own infrastructure.

Medical & dental practices

Practice management and imaging servers kept highly available and backed up offsite.

Logistics & import/export

WMS and EDI servers for Doral and airport-area operations, running on redundant hosts.

Law & accounting firms

Document and line-of-business servers protected by encrypted, verified backups.

Manufacturing & distribution

ERP and shop-floor VMs that cannot wait for a single host to be repaired.

MSPs & hosting providers

Multi-tenant Proxmox hosts for client workloads, with clean resource separation.

Software & dev teams

LXC containers and templates for quick test environments and CI runners.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why are companies moving from VMware to Proxmox?

After Broadcom acquired VMware, licensing moved to subscription bundles that significantly raised costs for many smaller and mid-sized organizations. Proxmox VE offers comparable core features, such as clustering, live migration and integrated backup, with a more transparent cost model.

How long does a VMware to Proxmox migration take?

It depends on the number of virtual machines, storage volume and acceptable downtime. Small environments can often move in a few days, while larger ones are migrated in phases over several weeks. We provide a schedule after an initial inventory.

Should we use Ceph or ZFS?

Ceph is a strong fit for clusters of three or more nodes that need shared, highly available storage. ZFS is excellent for single nodes or smaller clusters with replication. We recommend based on your hardware, network and recovery objectives.

Can you support a Proxmox environment someone else built?

Yes. We start with a health check covering versions, storage, networking, backups and security, then provide a prioritized list of fixes. Ongoing support can be added as a monthly plan.
