Sound familiar?

Patient care can’t wait on slow, fragile IT.

The front desk stalls, the day runs late

When check-in PCs, printers or the EHR connection fail, the waiting room fills and every appointment after that slips.

Shared logins and one flat network

Generic passwords at reception and guest Wi-Fi on the same network as clinical systems create risks nobody intended.

Backups nobody has restored

Records, imaging and billing data depend on backups that may not work when ransomware or a failed drive hits.

We put dependable, documented technical safeguards behind your practice, so your team can focus on patients.

Healthcare IT

Medical practices depend on technology for nearly everything, from scheduling and electronic health records to imaging and billing. They also carry a responsibility to protect patient information. We provide HIPAA-aware IT support for clinics, dental offices and specialty practices across Miami-Dade, Broward and South Florida, built around the technical safeguards the HIPAA Security Rule describes.

We design segmented, secure networks, enforce role-based access with multi-factor authentication, encrypt devices and backups, and enable audit logging so you can see who accessed which systems. We sign a Business Associate Agreement with you, and we help you track BAAs with the other vendors that handle patient data. Our work is designed to support your HIPAA compliance program and your risk assessments; compliance itself remains a shared responsibility that includes your policies, training and administrative safeguards.

In depth

Technical safeguards that fit a busy practice.

We design around the technical safeguards described in the HIPAA Security Rule, and around the reality of a clinic that has to open on time every morning.

01

Segmented, encrypted clinic networks

Clinical systems, staff devices and guest Wi-Fi live on separate network segments behind a managed firewall. Connections between locations and from remote staff travel over encrypted tunnels.

  • Separate clinical, staff and guest networks
  • Managed firewall with documented rules
  • Encrypted VPN for remote and multi-site access
  • Dependable Wi-Fi for exam rooms and front desk

02

Access control and audit logging

Every user gets their own account, only the access their role requires and multi-factor sign-in. Audit logging records who signed in to which systems, so questions about access have answers.

  • Unique accounts, no shared logins
  • MFA on email and key systems
  • Prompt onboarding and offboarding
  • Log retention for key systems

03

Encrypted backups and recovery

Patient records, imaging and billing data are backed up with encryption, an offsite copy and scheduled restore tests. If a server fails or ransomware strikes, recovery follows a plan you have already seen tested.

  • Encrypted, offsite 3-2-1 backups
  • Documented restore testing
  • Full-disk encryption on laptops
  • Remote lock and wipe for lost devices

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you make our practice HIPAA compliant?

No IT provider can make a practice compliant on its own. HIPAA compliance depends on your policies, staff training, risk assessments and administrative safeguards, in addition to technology. Our role is to implement and document the technical safeguards that support your compliance program.

Will you sign a Business Associate Agreement?

Yes. When our services involve access to systems that store or transmit protected health information, we sign a BAA with your practice. We also help you identify other vendors that should have one in place.

Do you support EHR and practice management software?

We support the infrastructure your EHR runs on, including workstations, servers, networks and connectivity, and we coordinate directly with your EHR vendor when issues involve their application.

What happens if a laptop with patient data is lost?

If the device is encrypted and managed, we can lock or wipe it remotely, and encryption greatly reduces the risk of exposure. We also help you document the incident so you can evaluate any notification obligations with your compliance advisor.
